Power Up!

I wasn’t a huge video game player as a kid but I definitely appreciated a good game of Mario Brothers or Duck Hunt (I am clearly showing my age here). When I was really doing well, I would get a bonus--a "power up" --something extra that would help me immediately or later in the game. Supporting women and girls in reaching their dreams is like one big power up for the world.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! Some of you are thinking about what you’ll wear, where you will go and/or if it will go well. Others are thinking about staying in with your friends, hitting up a movie or just forgetting the day is happening. And well, let’s be honest there are a few of you who are just now remembering tomorrow is a holiday and trying to figure out where you can order flowers or get a gift last minute.

Dream Big for Girls

When I was a child, what I dreamed of being when I grew up often changed with the wind. I wanted to be a teacher. I wanted to be a lawyer, an actress and for some brief period, I wanted to be a politician. Now that I am older and none of those things, I still realize the common denominator of all those dreams—what would have made any of them possible—is access to a quality education.
